The Government of India's flagship AgriStack initiative (also known as the Digital Public Infrastructure for Agriculture) is transforming how farmers access agricultural benefits. By linking land ownership records directly with Aadhaar-verified farmer profiles, the government issues a unique 11-digit Digital Farmer ID.
This Farmer ID is now becoming mandatory across India for receiving PM-KISAN installments, filing PMFBY crop insurance claims, applying for Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), and selling harvest at Minimum Support Price (MSP) government procurement centers.
If you have already applied or need to create your new Farmer ID, this guide covers how to register, verify your e-KYC status, and download your official AgriStack Farmer ID Card.
1. Documents Required Before You Begin
To avoid application rejection or pending verification delays, keep the following documents ready:
- Aadhaar Card: Must be linked to an active mobile number to receive authentication OTPs.
- Land Ownership Record: 7/12 extract (Maharashtra), Khatauni / Khasra (UP/MP/Rajasthan), Jamabandi (Punjab/Haryana), or RoR certificate.
- Bank Account Details: Bank passbook with NPCI / Aadhaar Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) enabled.
- Active Mobile Number: For SMS status updates and digital ID card OTP downloads.
2. Step-by-Step AgriStack Farmer Registration Process
Farmers can register either through self-registration online or by visiting their nearest Common Service Center (CSC) / Village Agriculture Officer (Krishi Sahayak / Talathi):
Step 1: Open Your State's Official AgriStack Portal
Every participating state has an official AgriStack endpoint (e.g., mhfr.agristack.gov.in for Maharashtra, upfr.agristack.gov.in for Uttar Pradesh). You can also use the Agri Stack All India App to automatically open your state's active portal.
Step 2: Authenticate with Aadhaar e-KYC
Click on "New Farmer Registration". Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, accept the consent statement, and enter the 6-digit OTP sent by UIDAI to your mobile phone.
Step 3: Link Your Land Parcels
Select your District, Taluka/Tehsil, and Village. Enter your Survey Number, Gut Number, or Khasra Number. The portal will automatically fetch your land records from the state revenue database. Select your name from the joint-ownership or sole-ownership list.
Step 4: Submit and Note Application Number
Review the linked parcel details and submit your application. You will receive an Acknowledgement Receipt with an Application Reference Number via SMS.
3. How to Check AgriStack e-KYC Approval Status
After submission, your local revenue official (Patwari / Talathi / Revenue Inspector) cross-checks the physical boundary and land record. Here is how to track your approval status:
- Visit your state's AgriStack portal or open the AgriStack App.
- Click on "Track Application / Farmer Status".
- Choose search by: Aadhaar Number or Application Number.
- Enter your registered mobile number and authenticate with OTP.
- Your status will display as:
- Approved / Farmer ID Generated — Your 11-digit ID is active.
- Pending Revenue Verification — Awaiting local Talathi/Patwari sign-off.
- Name Mismatch / Rejected — Aadhaar spelling does not match 7/12 or RoR records (correction required).
4. How to Download Your AgriStack Farmer ID Card (PDF)
Once your application is marked Approved, follow these steps to download your digital Farmer Card:
- Log in to your state portal using your mobile number and OTP.
- On the Farmer Dashboard, click "My Farmer Profile / Farmer ID".
- You will see your official digital card with QR code, 11-digit Farmer ID, photo, linked land acreage, and verified status.
- Click "Download Farmer ID Card (PDF)".
- You can print and laminate this card or store the PDF on your smartphone for hassle-free fertilizer subsidies and mandi harvest sales.

6. Common Issues & How to Resolve Them
Issue 1: Name Mismatch between Aadhaar and Land Records
In many village records, names contain father's name or initials differently from Aadhaar. In this case, your local Patwari/Talathi can perform manual biometric verification during village Gram Sabha camp days to certify identity.
Issue 2: Mobile OTP Not Arriving
Ensure your mobile number is currently updated in your Aadhaar card at a local UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra. AgriStack pulls verification OTP directly from UIDAI databases.
